Teachers Workshops & ClassesGroup Matclasses are recommended for those who have no serious injuries, who like the social aspect of a class environment and who can commit to a scheduled time each week. They are run similar to a school term basis and are organized by ability level, from beginner to advanced.
We also offer specialized group matclasses, such as Cardio Pilates, Stretch and Release and NYC Ballet Workout.
Matclasses use both the pilates mat, as well as small apparatus – balls, bands, rings and foam rollers – to support and challenge you.
Our range of matclasses is vast and we are confident that our offering will provide something for everyone.
Our classes:
Beginner Matclasses are for those clients new to pilates or those who have had a very long break since their last pilates sessions. You will learn the fundamentals of pilates, practice the correct technique for ensuring that you are always working from your core, understand how to move correctly and learn the beginner to improver level exercises. Maximum 8 per class.
Having established sound core stability, you now begin to challenge that stability with more and more dynamic movement. Improving posture is focused upon as is stamina and a stronger core. Maximum 12 per class.
Our "gentle" classes are just that, gentle. They are for those who perhaps are recovering from injury, or who have a condition that require them to work at a slower pace, or perhaps with a limited range of exercises. These classes ensure that absolutely everyone can benefit from pilates.
Intermediate classes incorporate “classical pilates” exercises into the class,working at a pace that establishes stamina, continual movement and ensures that every muscle of the body is both stretched and strengthened. Maximum 12 per class.
Advanced Matclasses are tough! Classical pilates is the focus as is the perfection of technique in order to ensure that the movement always comes from the deep core muscles. You need to be injury free and ready to sweat. Maximum 12 per class.
Cardio Pilates is pure pilates but with the added benefit of getting and keeping the heartrate up to facilitate cardio fitness and fat burning. Continual fast-paced pilates for 45 straight minutes. Intermediate to Advanced Level students only.
Based on the original NYC Ballet workout, the origins of this class are derived from the classical dance world. This is NOT a dance class, but a class focusing on the conditioning and strengthening of the muscles required for ballet. It is very much a workout focusing on legs, butts, hips and abdominals. Opened in Spring 2011 to rave reviews. For all levels.
A 45 minute stretch and release class focusing on releasing and then stretching the entire body, with the goal of increasing flexibility throughout the body. This is a not a gentle stretch class, but a serious focus on increasing flexibility through active stretching. Often combined with Cardio Pilates for the best of strengthening and lengthening!
Your studio is truly unique in it's ability to be so warm and welcoming while providing the BEST PILATES INSTRUCTION! Your instructors understand the essence of pilates and so the skill level is so high. Yet, you've managed to find some of the lovliest people in the world. You and your studio are truly missed. I have not found anything even close to it in Chicago or New Hampshire. You and your studio are a English treasure.

Also this morning for the first time I had no pain when I got out of bed. This is the second time you're treating me (my back pain and now my knee) and reducing my constant pain and for that I'm immensely grateful. Tomorrow my doctor is going to look at the MRI and give his prognosis. I'm quite positive and think with the right movements (with your help) I'll recover soon. Million thanks again.
